Do i need to download voicemail app s8 verizon

 · AM. Just switched to Verizon this week and have the same problem on my Samsung s7 and s8. ATT provides a visual voice mail on google play store that works on unbranded phones. I am surprised that Verizon will not do not do it also. If not for the poor coverage of ATT in my area I would switch back. I bought the unlocked S8 during Samsung's trade-in deal. I'm really loving the phone, but was disappointed to see no Visual Voicemail. I searched the Play Store with no luck (just looking for one by Verizon, not sure if 3rd party ones are credible?), so I called up Verizon. To cancel Visual Voicemail service: Go to the Add-ons and apps page in My Verizon. Click the Manage Your Products tab. In the Visual Voicemail section, click Remove from Account in the top-right corner. Follow the onscreen prompts to remove the feature from your account. You've successfully canceled Visual Voicemail.

The My Verizon app is the all-in-one hub of your Verizon experience, allowing you to keep track of account changes, easily switch to Verizon, and much more. Switch and bring your phone to Verizon in minutes with auto-detection of your device and the ability to scan your ID for quick setup. Plus, check which offers you're eligible for. I had a similar problem and have found a solution. I had a Verizon-branded Samsung S6, and I just upgraded to an unlocked Samsung S8. Voice mail *notification* has not worked since I got the new phone, although voice mail itself was working and I could retrieve my voice messages by pressing * This is especially true if you're using a next-gen visual voicemail service. If a carrier-issued app isn't working, you may need to check for updates. App updates often come with new features or bug fixes that can help resolve common issues. If your voicemail app breaks, this may be the result of an issue that your carrier has since resolved.

Just switched from a Galaxy s4 to a Galaxy s8 and was very unhappy to discover there is no voicemail app. The only notification I get that I have a voicemail is a single sound, which if I missed the call I miss this notification. This is especially true if you’re using a next-gen visual voicemail service. If a carrier-issued app isn’t working, you may need to check for updates. I purchased an unlocked S8 from Samsung. The voicemail indicator doesn't work. I tried activating the 'pager notification' in the voicemail settings (dial *86), but it doesn't notify my device of new voicemail. If I were able to download and install the basic Visual Voicemail app, this should resolve my issue.
